Category: GeneralNational Day of Prayer, Miami Valley Gathering

Thursday, May 1st, is the National Day of Prayer. The National Day of Prayer was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress inviting people of all faiths to pray for our nation. In past years, many in the Miami Valley have used the National Day of Prayer to gather in their community or place of worship for special prayer. If that is you we thank you and pray blessings on your event.

If you have not participated in the National Day of Prayer we invite you to join us in praying in the name of Jesus Christ to the God of Abraham for our Nation and in particular for the people, leaders and needs of our Miami Valley region.

Join us for the fourth annual Miami Valley Community Prayer Gathering on the Montgomery County Courthouse Square at Noon, Thursday, May 1st for an hour of prayer and patriotic observance. Please contact us if you would promote or participate in this Community Prayer Gathering. And, let us know if your fellowship or community already has plans for prayer that day.

Category: GeneralHomeMakers for America presents a National Liberty Conference - A Meeting of the Heart

A Meeting of the Heart is a two day conference presented by HomeMakers for America for women and their spouses featuring guest speakers, break-out sessions, musical presentations and our “Remember the Ladies” Banquet.

Speakers include Bill Federer, best-selling author and host of American Minute, Pam Openshaw, author of Promises of the Constitution, Peter Wolf of The Voices of America, Marlene Peterson from Libraries of Hope, Kimberly Fletcher, president and founder of HomeMakers for America and artist Helen Robson.

Women across the nation are deeply concerned with the direction our nation is heading. We are hungering for truth and desperately seeking answers on what we can do to turn the tide and protect our children from the negative influences swarming around us. A Meeting of the Heart is an opportunity for women to gather together and learn how we can not only preserve, but secure, the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our children for generations to come.

We need a mighty change of heart in America and there is no better or more influential place to start than with the heart of America—the mothers. There is no better place to teach liberty, integrity, patriotism and virtue than at a mother's knee. What happens in society all begins with mothers!

Liberty begins at home. If we don’t start there, nothing else we do will matter. No election, court, or law will save us. And so, A meeting of the Heart brings together the heart of the home—the mothers—to focus on the heart of the nation—the families—and to present the principles, values, and historically proven formula that will generate a mighty change of heart and lead to the healing of America!

We hope you will join us in Dayton, Ohio this May as we pay tribute to the influence of women, celebrate our legacy of liberty and come together for a Meeting of the Heart!

Category: GeneralWalk a Mile in Her Shoes®

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® is a national event designed to help raise awareness about sexual violence. Each year, men, women and their families join Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® to benefit Gracehaven. The Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® Event is a fun and quirky, but meaningful opportunity to raise awareness in the community about child sex trafficking.
Gracehaven realized there was a demand for services for victims of commercial sexual exploitation. We began our organization to provide a residential group home for girls under the age of 18 who are survivors, to raise awareness, to train social service providers, and to provide outreach and comprehensive case management to victims.

Gracehaven is a proud member of the Central Ohio Rescue and Restore Coalition, The Ohio Attorney General’s Study Commission on Human Trafficking and the Ohio Network of Anti Human Trafficking Coalitions.

Gracehaven will have three Walk A Mile in Her Shoes walks this year in the Columbus area - for Mother's Day, for Father's Day and a Back-to-School Walk.
    First You Walk the Walk

There is an old saying: "You can't really understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes." Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® asks men and women to literally walk one mile in women's high-heeled shoes (encouraged, but optional!) It is a unique opportunity to open the door on the discussion of child sex trafficking that happens right here in Central Ohio.
    Then You Talk the Talk

It is critical to bring child sex trafficking into the light, but not very easy to do. People unfamiliar with child sex trafficking don't want to believe it exists. This is an ugly topic. How do you get people talking about this issue, so they can identify and prevent it from happening? And if it's already happened, how do you help guide them to recovery?

This year, Gracehaven will expand our 6th Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® by coordinating three walks to a total of 1,700 people throughout Central Ohio.

Mother's Day Walk - Register Now Saturday, May 10 (Mother’s Day weekend) at Grace Polaris Church. Registration at 8 AM; walk begins at 9 AM

Father's Day Walk - Register Now Saturday, June 14 (Father’s Day weekend) at Glacier Ridge Metro Park. Registration at 8 AM; walk begins at 9 AM

Back-to-School Walk - Coming Soon Saturday, September 20 at Wolfe Park in Bexley. Registration at 8 AM; walk begins at 9 AM

Category: GeneralPhilippines Relief Benefit Concert with the Jackson Family

This event is going to be on May 18th at 7:00 PM at the Vandalia-Butler High School Auditorium. Few people can comprehend that the needs are still so desperate for food, water, and shelter in a country where they already lived in poverty. The devastation we’ve seen recently in this country because of tornadoes continues to pale by comparison! We will be taking a team of relief workers from several churches in the area to provide help this summer (June 2014). We are in awe that God has already given us great favor! The Vandalia-Butler High School is providing access to their auditorium so that we can share this need with our communities and with his students. The superintendant hopes many of his students at Vandalia-Butler will get involved in helping to raise awareness and support for this need.

Our family has performed in evangelistic outreach concerts all over Asia, especially communist and Islamic nations (see www.jacksonfamilymusic.com). We have witnessed the greatest revival and outpouring of God’s spirit when churches of all different denominations come together in unity for the common goal of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. As ministries unite, they all grow exponentially and God is glorified.
